Hazards: Wind gusts up to 100 km/h Heavy downpours Nickel size hail Risk of a tornado Discussion: A line of thunderstorms is expected to push eastwards through northwestern Ontario late this afternoon or this evening. The main threat with these thunderstorms will be strong wind gusts. In addition, the moist airmass will allow for storms to produce heavy downpours. ### Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
