Washita River near Dickson affecting Murray, Johnston and Carter Counties. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Washita River near Dickson. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Overflow conditions extend along the Washita River in Murray... Carter... and Johnston counties. About 2 thousand acres of bottomlands between Rock Creek near Dougherty and Lake Texoma are covered... with flood depths up to 5 feet in low places. Any flooding on tributary creeks is increased by backwater from the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:30 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 25.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 25.0 feet. - Forecast...The Washita River is expected to fall. - Action stage is 24.0 feet. - Flood stage is 27.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternative route.
