yellow watch - severe thunderstorm - in effect Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Severe thunderstorms have developed from a surface trough over southeastern Saskatchewan and North Dakota this evening and expected to move into Manitoba near midnight tonight. Strong to severe wind gust and heavy rain is the main threat with these storms. Thunderstorms are expected to move out of the area by Sunday morning. ### Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected], call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on X using #MBStorm. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
