yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 1:28 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and very heavy rain. Thunderstorm Location: From Stonyridge to Warsaw to Peterborough. Motion: Moving east at 65 km/h. Hazards: Up to 90 km/h winds. Up to quarter sized hail. Locally heavy rainfall with up to 60 mm possible. Locations in the Path: Bridgenorth Petroglyphs Provincial Park Lakefield Quackenbush Provincial Park Peterborough Peterborough Lift Lock National Historic Site of Canada Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park Norwood Keene Havelock ### Local utility outages are likely. Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. Don't drive through flooded roadways. Avoid low-lying areas.
