Special Weather Statement issued June 11 at 12:39PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK Heavy showers will develop today along the North Slopes of the Alaska Range, and over the Goodpaster River Basin, and the Upper Charlie and Upper Fortymile River Basins. Showers will be heavy at times between late this afternoon and early Thursday. The heaviest rain will be east of Denali Park, with between one and two inches of rain possible in some areas. This could cause rapid rises on streams and small rivers in steep terrain. People in the Alaska Range east of Denali Park, and along the Goodpaster, Charlie and Fortymile Rivers should be alert to the possibility of heavy rain and rapidly rising streams and rivers tonight through Thursday.
