Red Flag Warning issued June 4 at 9:15PM MST until June 6 at 8:00PM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZ The National Weather Service in Flagstaff AZ has issued a Red Flag Warning due to strong winds and low relative humidity in effect from 10 AM MST /11 AM MDT/ to 8 PM MST /9 PM MDT/ Saturday, and a Fire Weather Watch due to strong winds and low relative humidity in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday evening. * WHAT...For the Red Flag Warning, southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and relative Humidity between 9 and 16 percent. For the Fire Weather Watch, southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity between 9 and 16 percent. * WHERE...Kaibab Plateau, Grand Canyon, and the Coconino Plateau. This includes portions of the Kaibab National Forest. * WHEN...For the Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM MST /11 AM MDT/ to 8 PM MST /9 PM MDT/ Saturday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Sunday morning through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Rapid spread and growth of any new or existing fires. Fires will have the potential to exhibit extreme fire behavior. Elevated potential for new fire starts. Do your part: No open flames or sparks, keep vehicles off of dry grass, properly dispose of cigarette butts, and avoid power equipment that creates sparks. One less spark, one less wildfire.
