Minor coastal flooding possible. * WHERE...San Luis Obispo County Beaches, Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches, Santa Barbara County Southwestern Coast, Santa Barbara County Southeastern Coast, Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches. * WHEN...Through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Southerly swell combined with abnormally high tides of 7.0 to 7.6 feet will bring the potential for minor coastal flooding in low-lying areas in the evening. Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in such conditions, stay off the rocks.

Extreme Heat Warning issued July 13 at 8:38AM PDT until July 16 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA * WHAT...Temperatures of 90 to 110 degrees, hottest on Wednesday and over interior areas. * WHERE...A portion of southwest California. * WHEN...From 10 AM Tuesday to 8 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness for anyone, especially for the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Humid conditions will add to the heat to potentially worsen heat impacts. Effects of the heat will build through the week, with warm overnight low temperatures providing little relief from the heat. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
