Flood Watch issued May 17 at 2:40AM HST until May 17 at 8:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR OAHU AND KAUAI COUNTY... ...FLOOD WATCH FOR ALL ISLANDS IN MAUI COUNTY IS CANCELLED... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Kauai, Oahu and Niihau. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A band of moderate to heavy showers with isolated thunderstorms will slowly move through the western islands today, increasing the threat for flash flooding through this evening. All islands in the Flood Watch area should be prepared for the possibility of flash flooding. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Flood Advisory issued May 17 at 10:49AM HST until May 17 at 2:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County. * WHEN...Until 200 PM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1040 AM HST, radar and rain gages indicated that rain rates have started to decrease across much of Oahu. However, stream gages remain elevated across many areas. Satellite and radar data also show another area of rain developing to the south and moving toward West Oahu. - This advisory includes the entire island of Oahu. Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action. A Flood Watch is also in effect through Friday evening.
