Flood Watch issued May 18 at 3:15AM HST until May 19 at 6:00AM HST by NWS Honolulu HI ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT FOR KAUAI COUNTY... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Niihau and Kauai. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be closed due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areas may receive more significant flooding and property damage due to rapid runoff. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A band of moderate to heavy showers associated with a kona low northwest of the islands will slowly move over Kauai County. As this band slowly moves eastward through tonight, the threat for flash flooding for the islands of Niihau and Kauai will persist. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Heights should dip just below this level and hold Sunday through Tuesday, with a similar swell expected to begin filling in Sunday. * WHAT...Surf of 7 to 10 feet. * WHERE...South-facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening. * IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't go out.
