Extreme Heat Warning issued July 1 at 3:33AM CDT until July 3 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions can be expected with heat index values from 105 to 115 degrees. * WHERE...all of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT /9 PM EDT/ Friday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Flood Warning issued June 30 at 9:24PM EDT until July 2 at 5:00AM EDT by NWS Indianapolis IN ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... Illinois... White River at Hazleton. Wabash River at Mount Carmel. ...The Flood Warning is cancelled for the following rivers in Indiana... White River at Petersburg. .Minor river flooding has ended on the White River at Petersburg... but will continue at Hazleton through Thursday morning...as well as on the Wabash River at Mount Carmel through late Wednesday. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel. * WHEN...Until early Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, River is bankfull in all locations. All oil field production ceases with the exception of pumping units on substructures. Access to these are by boat only. Agricultural losses increase dramatically. Farmers move livestock to higher ground. City of Mount Carmel leaves flood gates B and C in year round. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM EDT Tuesday /7:45 PM CDT Tuesday/ the stage was 19.7 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:45 PM EDT Tuesday /7:45 PM CDT Tuesday/ was 20.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon and continue falling and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
