Wabash River from Lafayette to Riverton. Wildcat Creek near Lafayette. .Rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 4 inches across much of the area is bringing minor lowland flooding to most of the Wabash River basin. The Wabash should crest by Friday morning at Lafayette and Terre Haute on Saturday. Flooding may redevelop on the upper Wabash or be extended at downriver points by moderate to heavy rainfall that is expected Sunday into Monday which is not included in the current forecasts. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Terre Haute. * WHEN...From this afternoon to Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 19.5 feet, Water begins to rise in the Izaak Walton Lake. Sheet flowing water begins in the wetland project between U.S. 40 and I-70, and during a prolonged flood event project fills about 75 percent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:30 PM EDT Thursday /11:30 AM CDT Thursday/ the stage was 16.7 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:30 PM EDT Thursday /11:30 AM CDT Thursday/ was 16.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.9 feet early Saturday afternoon.
