Many rivers and low lying areas are already flooding or experience high water with more rain expected over the next 24 to 48 hours. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Iowa, including the following counties, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek and Wisconsin, including the following counties, Crawford, Grant, La Crosse, Monroe, Richland and Vernon. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Much of the area received heavy rainfall overnight especially along and south of Interstate 90 across southeast Minnesota and southwest Wisconsin. Upper Iowa River at Bluffton affecting Winneshiek County. Upper Iowa River at Dorchester Hwy 76 affecting Allamakee County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Upper Iowa River at Bluffton. * WHEN...From Friday afternoon to Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, River is significantly outside of its banks impacting both Bluffton Canoe Landings. Campgrounds along the river in Bluffton are underwater. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:45 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 6.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 12.9 feet tomorrow evening.
