Heat Advisory issued July 27 at 2:48PM CDT until July 27 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD * WHAT...Heat index values up to 104. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, northeast Nebraska, and southeast South Dakota. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
