Flood Warning issued June 27 at 8:38AM CDT until June 28 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...A portion of south central Kansas, including the following county, Kingman. * WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 835 AM CDT, emergency management reported ongoing flooding in the warned area. - No additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kingman, Norwich, Cunningham, Nashville, Murdock, Waterloo, Willowdale, Zenda, Spivey, Cleveland, Penalosa, Kingman Airport, Rago, Mt Vernon, Cheney Lake and Cheney State Park. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.

Ninnescah River near Belle Plaine affecting Sumner County. Ninnescah River near Peck affecting Sedgwick and Sumner Counties. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansas... Ninnescah South Fork near Murdock affecting Kingman County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Ninnescah South Fork near Murdock. * WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Minor flooding occurs along the right upstream bank affecting pastureland and along left downstream bank. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 8.3 feet and falling. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late this evening and continue falling to around 5 feet on Tuesday. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
