Flood Warning issued June 29 at 1:36PM CDT until June 30 at 8:30AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansas... Arkansas River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Arkansas River at Arkansas City. * WHEN...Until tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Flooding of agricultural lands can be expected with bank overflows on west side of river. West Chestnut Avenue west of the river floods, expect road closure. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:00 PM CDT Monday the stage was 12.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this evening and continue falling to 5.3 feet early Saturday afternoon. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
