Flood Advisory issued July 9 at 2:56AM EDT until July 9 at 5:00AM EDT by NWS Wilmington OH * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...The following counties, in northern Kentucky, Campbell and Kenton. * WHEN...Until 500 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 253 AM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Covington, Erlanger, Fort Thomas, Newport, Edgewood, Fort Mitchell, Highland Heights, Taylor Mill, Bellevue, Fort Wright, Dayton, Ludlow, Southgate, Crestview Hills, Park Hills, Lakeside Park, Wilder, Silver Grove and Cold Spring. - Locations near Pooles Creek are especially vulnerable to flooding from this rainfall. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
