In northeast Kentucky, Johnson. In south central Kentucky, Rockcastle. In southeast Kentucky, Breathitt, Jackson, Lee, Magoffin, Morgan, Owsley and Wolfe. * WHEN...Until 11 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Excessive rains of the past week have left a good portion of the area primed for high water issues in locations that experience training thunderstorms through this evening. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms, some with torrential downpours, are expected to affect the area through the evening, leading to a potential for flash flooding considering the soaked grounds in certain parts of eastern Kentucky. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Flood Advisory issued June 22 at 8:42PM EDT until June 22 at 11:45PM EDT by NWS Jackson KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, Breathitt, Magoffin and Wolfe. * WHEN...Until 1145 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 842 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain could result in flash flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jackson, Salyersville, Mason, Simpson, Bays, Cornelia, Rousseau, Mountain Valley, Guage, Dale, Stevenson, Eugene, Puncheon, Camp Lewis, Seiltz, Rock Lick, Burkhart, Cutuno, Lunah and Haginsville. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
