If traveling, be alert for sudden changes in visibility. Reduce speed, increase following distance, and use low beam headlights when encountering dense fog.

Air Quality Alert issued July 16 at 5:10PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC The Maryland Department of the Environment has issued a Code PURPLE Air Quality Alert Friday for Western Maryland. A Code Purple Air Quality Alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region are very unhealthy for the general population. The risk of health effects is increased for everyone. The effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity or exercise outdoors.
