Extreme Heat Warning issued July 2 at 8:03PM EDT until July 3 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Check with local emergency management officials for information on cooling center availability.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Hartland, Howell, Brighton, Chelsea, Dexter, Fowlerville, Pinckney, Hamburg, South Lyon, Salem, Cohoctah, Gregory, Dixboro, Oak Grove, Whitmore Lake, Plainfield, Unadilla, and Barton Hills. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
