Flood Watch issued June 25 at 2:46PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following areas, Bourbon, Cherokee and Crawford and Missouri, including the following areas, Barry, Barton, Benton, Camden, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, Maries, McDonald, Miller, Morgan, Newton, Oregon, Ozark, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, Shannon, St. Clair, Stone, Taney, Texas, Vernon, Webster and Wright. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Northwestern Newton County in southwestern Missouri... * Until 245 AM CDT. * At 943 PM CDT, Emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall and flash flooding in Scammon. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Joplin, Pittsburg, Carthage, Baxter Springs, Columbus, Webb City, Carl Junction, Frontenac, Galena, Oronogo, Carterville, Duquesne, Arma, Duenweg, Weir, Leawood, Silver Creek, Alba, Scammon, Purcell, Mindenmines, Shoal Creek Drive, Saginaw, West Mineral, Treece, Loma Linda, Airport Drive, Lowell, Sherman, Chicopee, Nashville, Franklin, Carytown, Fidelity, Asbury, Neck City, Redings Mill, Grand Falls Plaza, Brooklyn Heights and Shoal Creek Estates. Flood waters impact low areas near Galesburg upstream from the Waco forecast point.
