Air Quality Alert issued July 24 at 11:08AM PDT by NWS Pendleton OR Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Quality Advisory until noon PDT Monday. For the Smoke Air Quality Advisory, wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition. Red Flag Warning issued July 25 at 3:03AM PDT until July 25 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS Pendleton OR ...WINDY AND BREEZY WITH CRITICAL RELATIVE HUMIDITY TODAY... An upper level low will eject into the region bringing windy conditions to many of the Cascade Gaps as well as central OR. Humidities will be critical. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 698 Southern Blue Mountains and 700 Central Mountains of Oregon. * TIMING...Until 8 PM PDT this evening. * WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 11 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
