Flood Watch issued May 1 at 1:23PM CDT until May 2 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following areas, Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker, Waller and Washington. * WHEN...From 10 PM CDT this evening through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Another round of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms is expected tonight. Grounds are very saturated, so any additional rainfall will be slow to drain and could lead to street flooding and additional rises on rivers, creeks and streams. Widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches can be expected north of I-10. For the Neches River...including Lake Palestine, Neches, Alto, Diboll, Rockland...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neches River near Alto. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Expect moderate to severe flooding of the heavily wooded floodplain.
