Heat Advisory issued June 19 at 9:09AM CDT until June 19 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Corpus Christi TX * WHAT...Heat index values up to 114 expected. * WHERE...Aransas Islands, Bee, Calhoun Islands, Coastal Aransas, Coastal Calhoun, Coastal Kleberg, Coastal Nueces, Coastal Refugio, Coastal San Patricio, Duval, Goliad, Inland Calhoun, Inland Kleberg, Inland Nueces, Inland Refugio, Inland San Patricio, Jim Wells, Kleberg Islands, La Salle, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces Islands, Victoria, and Webb Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Hunting cabins, oil field tanks and pumps are affected, and livestock become isolated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 9.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is rising and is expected to reach minor flood stage of 14.0 feet Sunday night.
