Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued June 19 at 5:43PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX At 542 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Humble, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Humble, Kingwood, Barrett, Highlands, Crosby, Roman Forest, Woodbranch, Plum Grove, Atascocita, Lake Houston Dam, Lake Houston, Sheldon, eastern Bush Intercontinental Airport, New Caney, and Porter. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Flood Advisory issued June 19 at 6:09PM CDT until June 19 at 9:15PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Harris, Liberty and Montgomery. * WHEN...Until 915 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 608 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Humble, Kingwood, Greater Greenspoint, Splendora, Patton Village, Roman Forest, Woodbranch, Atascocita, Lake Houston, Bush Intercontinental Airport, Porter and New Caney. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
