Flood Warning issued April 29 at 9:35AM CDT until April 29 at 9:30PM CDT by NWS Lake Charles LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Louisiana, including the following parishes, Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu and Jefferson Davis and southeast Texas, including the following counties, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton and Orange. * WHEN...Until 930 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 934 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain is ending however flooding will continue. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Beaumont, Lake Charles, Port Arthur, Sulphur, Orange, Nederland, Groves, Port Neches, Lumberton, Vidor, Bridge City, Westlake, West Orange, Vinton, Kinder, Sour Lake, Nome, Fenton, Reeves and Mauriceville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. The next statement will be issued Tuesday morning at 945 AM CDT. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neches River at Neches River Saltwater Barrier. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Water begins to go over Bigner Road into the saltwater barrier. Water also cuts off most access to the Four Oaks Ranch Road downstream of Four Oaks boat launch. Flooding of Colliers Ferry Park and secondary roads near the river can be expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 AM CDT Monday the stage was 4.6 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:15 AM CDT Monday was 4.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to 7.5 feet Friday morning.
