Flood Warning issued April 27 at 10:05PM CDT until April 28 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northern Texas, including the following counties, Archer, Baylor and Knox. * WHEN...Until 400 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1005 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 4 and 8 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Seymour, Munday, Knox City, Benjamin, Holliday, Goree, Red Springs, Lake Kemp, Bomarton, Mabelle, Vera, Westover, Rhineland, Lake Diversion, Dundee, Lake Kickapoo and Mankins. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
