Wind Advisory issued June 18 at 2:28AM EDT until June 18 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Burlington VT * WHAT...South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts between 45 and 55 mph expected. * WHERE...All of northern New York and most of Vermont outside of Orange and eastern Windsor counties. * WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down with isolated to scattered power outages possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will be between 9 AM and 1 PM, especially in the northern Champlain Valley and northern slopes of the Adirondacks, with another round of strong winds in northern New York between 3 PM and 8 PM. Fully leafed out trees will result in more tree damage than with similar wind speeds during the colder months of the year. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.

Southwestern Washington County in central Vermont... * Until 215 PM EDT. * At 124 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Cornwall, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and powerlines. * Locations impacted include... Middlebury, Cornwall, Addison, Weybridge, Hancock, Shoreham, Salisbury, Ripton, Bristol, Lincoln, New Haven, Bridport, Buels Gore, Waltham, Granville, Warren, Whiting, Fayston, Goshen, and Starksboro. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 PM EDT for central and northwestern Vermont.
