Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers. A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 MPH or gusts of 58 MPH or stronger can lead to property damage.

Localized gusts over 60 mph are expected in Platte County. Winds will become more westerly in the late afternoon and evening hours as they gradually weaken. * HUMIDITY...Between 10 and 20 percent. The lowest humidity is expected south of the North Platte River. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
