Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 20 at 1:28PM MDT until June 20 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Riverton WY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 356 IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN WYOMING THIS WATCH INCLUDES 6 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL WYOMING FREMONT HOT SPRINGS NATRONA IN NORTH CENTRAL WYOMING JOHNSON WASHAKIE IN SOUTH CENTRAL WYOMING SWEETWATER THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BUFFALO, CASPER, DUBOIS, GREEN RIVER, KAYCEE, LANDER, RIVERTON, ROCK SPRINGS, THERMOPOLIS, AND WORLAND.

Special Weather Statement issued June 20 at 2:26PM MDT by NWS Riverton WY At 226 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12 miles south of Ervay, which is 31 miles northeast of Jeffrey City, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Natrona County, including the following locations... Alcova Dam and Natrona. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
